As of today, it has been one month since my senior year started. It's also the first day of fall, even though the weather says otherwise. It's 91 degrees outside right now, crazy! I can't wait until it gets colder and I can wear scarves, sweaters, tights, hats, coats, boots and layer properly! In other news, I'm ready to go to college (preferably in New York, if you couldn't tell by the set). There's just something about going to art school for a summer that makes coming back to normal high school so depressing. In the meantime, I'm busying myself by making art and fashion pieces for my admissions portfolios and balancing jazz choir and my 3 AP classes. Whoever said senior year is the easiest is definitely lying- hopefully it'll be better next semester! xoxo, Shariki. ♥

And... I'm back! Again! :P I've been back from LA for a little more than a week now, and my senior year starts next Wednesday. Yay? I'm really sorry that I haven't been active on here much last year, but my life has been crazy and I have a feeling this year will be even crazier. It's insane that in this time next year, I will be getting ready to go to college. I would've thought that I'm way too immature to live in a college setting, but after my experiences in July I think I'll be okay. I had to manage living in an apartment with another girl my age, finding and preparing my own food, managing my time between my fashion homework and relaxing/having fun and I think I did pretty well. I've also learned so much this summer in terms of fashion and art, hopefully this will help me when I create my portfolio!
 
Oh, and this outfit is basically a representation of what I want my style to be for Fall 2012: classic and girly with bright colors, prints, and Peter Pan collars. I'll try to make some real sets this week if I have time!

Hey everyone! Remember me? Shariki? simplybowtiful? The girl who wants to be a fashion designer? Well, it's been way too long (more than a month!), but I'm back! I've been so busy with taking the SAT twice, AP tests, finals, and wrapping up the school year in general, but as of last Thursday, I'm officially a senior in high school! :O
 
Updates on my life:
1. As I said before, I took the SAT for both May and June, and hopefully I won't have to take it again so I can focus on colege apps and enjoying my senior year. I also took the AP test for APUSH, and I think I got at least a 4, but you never know! The end of the year also went pretty well and I think my GPA improved from last semester.
2. I haven't been doing very well so far, but I want to stop being lazy, lounging around the TV and on my laptop because I watch way too much reality TV when I could be creating something.
3. In July, I'm going to a summer fashion design program in LA! I got a full tuition scholarship to the pre-college program at Otis College of Art and Design, I'm so excited :)
4. I've also started to sew a lot on my newish machine, I just finished my mint green blazer and now I'm making a peplum pencil skirt. I want to make more pieces for my college portfolios, and I've already won awards for some of the clothes I've made! :)
5. I really want to get more industry experience, but I don't know how I'm going to do that since it's all about who you know. But I am on the BP Fashion Board again, so I guess that's good. Better than nothing!
6. As a whole, junior year was a much better year for me than sophomore year. I don't know, I just feel more confident in myself and my abilities. I've also met lots of amazing friends and though I now realize I'll never be a crazy party girl with 1000 Facebook friends, I'm okay with that. I don't want to be that girl anyways. I'd rather just be myself and stop worrying what other people think.

I'm a little scared about my future right now. I've always thought that I succeed and get into a great fashion school but now I don't know. There's a lot of competition, and everyone wants to be a fashion designer nowadays. This week I was denied a scholarship from my top choice summer program, which really sucks. Thankfully I have a few other options but now I don't even know what I'm going to do this summer. I just have to work harder to make sure I achieve my dreams and make something of myself.

Oh, I also took the SAT for the first time ever today!!! I didn't think it was too hard, but we'll see when I get my score, lol.

It's been so long since I've been on here, but I've litterally been way too busy last month. From summer applications to doing a week's worth of makeup work to jazz choir auditions (I got in this year! :D) to dance rehearsals, AND all of my schoolwork and tests on top of it, I didn't have time to breathe, let alone make sets.
 
This week is spring break and I'm stuck at home, as usual. :P But I guess that's good because I have a ton to do, as usual. Junior year has been crazy and I really wish that I could spend more time on here like I did last year, but I have to do whatever it takes to get into Parsons! However, I WILL try to make another set this week.

I can't believe this, but I'm still sick. I haven't been to school all week and I didn't even take the SAT like I was supposed to. Hanging around the house all day is really tedious, but I have more drawing time, which is always good. Now that I got into AP Art Studio, I need to practice more!

I have been sick for 4 days now, ugh. :P I feel horrible, but getting to lay around and do nothing all day isn't so bad. ;) The unfortunate thing is that I'll be taking to SAT on Saturday for the first time... that should be interesting!

I'm pretty much ready to go to college, haha. High school is okay, but I really want to be around people that actually understand fashion like I do. Yesterday I found a blog about this girl who goes to FIT and is studying abroad in Florence and they get to take field trips to Paris/Milan and visit fashion houses there... basically, I'm insanely jealous. :/ I don't even care that fashion majors are notoriously stressed out and get no sleep, at least I'll be doing what I want to do!
 
Hopefully I'll get to go to a precollege program for fashion design this summer, that would be amazing! That would be a step in the right direction and I would learn so much.

So, (drumroll please) I have finished and turned in my AP Art Studio application! (: I'm a little worried that I won't get in, because some of my friends' portfolios are a lot better than mine, but I'm staying optimistic. Anyways, I heard that pretty much everyone who applies gets in. And I'm almost done with my RISD application, yay!
 
In other news, I am now a proud owner of the beautiful Jason Wu for Target blouse in the set! :D When the collection first came out, I came a few hours too late and pretty much everything was gone except for a few things in XL. But yesterday I went to Target with my mom, and I guess the restocked or someone returned a lot because there was a lot more to choose from! I was so happy that they had the top in my size, it was one of my favorites! (:

I am exhausted. And overwhelmed. And sick. I had to come home today because of it. Oh, well. I had an excuse to lay around and do nothing for once. ;) Right now I'm working on a periwinkle blouse with a Peter Pan collar on my... new sewing machine! :D I love it and it's so much more convenient to sew at home. I've been working on pieces for my pre-college and AP Art Studio applications, fingers crossed!
